“Thank God for you all. I would be starving to death if it wasn’t for you all.”
-Food Pantry Client
Demand for our Food Pantry service, which meets the most basic of human needs is perhaps the clearest indicator of our clients’ dire economic situation. Once a week, clients have the choice to shop or pick up pre-packed food bags.
HOURS: Wednesday 4pm-6pm & Thursday 9am-12pm every week except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Chamber of Commerce members, area merchants, neighborhoods, groups, individuals and churches collect food for the Food Pantry at different times of the year. Local grocery stores and the Goochland County Public Schools donate food, which volunteers pick up weekly, that would otherwise be discarded. Other volunteers drive to Feedmore’s Central Virginia Food Bank (CVFB) each week to buy food to augment the donations.
